Announcement of Sales of Various Alcoholic Beverages Containing 5-ALA by Asahara Brewery Co., Ltd.

NeoPharma Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Satoshi Kawada) announces that various alcoholic beverages containing 5-ALA, produced from the food-grade 5-ALA manufactured at our Fukuroi factory (located in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture), will be available from Asahara Brewery Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Moroyama, Iruma District, Saitama Prefecture, CEO: Kenichi Asahara) starting June 30.

Our 5-Aminolevulinic Acid Phosphate (5-ALA), registered as a food ingredient, has already been incorporated into confectioneries and beverages. In a new initiative, Asahara Brewery Co., Ltd. has developed sparkling sake, plum wine, and yuzu sake containing 5-ALA. The ability to incorporate 5-ALA into alcoholic beverages opens up further possibilities for product development.

This sparkling sake features a rich body and gentle bitterness using generously sourced German malt and hops, known for its refreshing finish.
