Infection Control with 5-ALA, Partnership Announcement with Thai Union Group, the Largest Seafood Processor in Thailand
NeoPharma Japan Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the exclusive sales contract within Thailand for the aquaculture feed “AQUALA M” incorporated with 5-ALA (5-aminolevulinic acid), produced and sold by NeoPharma Japan, with TMAC, a subsidiary of Thai Union Group.
Thai Union Group is a major seafood processing company that holds about 20% of the market share for shrimp products exported from Thailand. Its subsidiary, TMAC, is influential in Thailand’s robust shrimp farming industry, operating its own shrimp farming and selling juvenile shrimp to other farmers.
Recent studies have shown that the administration of 5-ALA to vannamei shrimp, the most cultivated shrimp globally, has significant preventive effects against EMS/AHPND (Early Mortality Syndrome/Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease), a problem affecting production volumes in Southeast Asia.
With the global population increase, the production of vannamei shrimp is expected to continue to rise, and this product is anticipated to potentially reach hundreds to thousands of tons in shipments.
